WHAT IS HALAL FOOD?

In Arabic, the word halal means permitted or lawful. Halal food are food that are allowed under Islamic dietary guidelines. According to these guidelines gathered from the Qu'ran, Muslim followers cannot consume the following:

pork or pork by products
animals that were dead prior to slaughtering
animals not slaughtered properly or not slaughtered in the name of Allah
blood and blood by products
alcohol and any forms of intoxicants
carnivorous animals
birds of prey

These prohibited food and ingredients are called haram, meaning forbidden in Arabic.

WHAT ELSE?

Halal food are food that consist of safe ingredients, otherwise, it is haram to be eaten

Muslims have to pray 5 times a day and it is a waste of time?

1 day = 24 hours

Chatting + blogging + surfing (Facebook, Friendster, Myspace) = 2 hours
Gossiping = 30 minutes (or more?)
Playing PS2 = 1 hour
Watching TV = 2 hours
Sleeping = 6 to 9 hours
Day – dreaming = 1 hour

1 prayer ± 3 minutes

3 minutes x 5 times prayer = 15 minutes

5 times prayer only cost you about approximately 15 minutes…

So you have the residual of;
24 hours – 15 minutes = 23 hours and 45 minutes to do other things

Why Is Islam seen as Difficult?

Islam is a beautiful, simple religion. But unfortunately many muslims do not practice true Islam. This creates a negative image about Islam until Islam is seen as a religion that is difficult, illogical, barbaric, oppressive of women, unjust and so on.

That is why we cannot learn about and judge Islam based on the doings of an individual Muslim. This is because not everything that Muslims do reflects what is contained in the teachings of Islam. To know the true teachings of Islam, we have to learn it from the original source, namely the Qur’an and as-Sunnah. We can accept or reject the words and deeds of any person, except for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who is protected by God from any wrongdoing.

Why is Islam seen as difficult? The following are some of the reasons why Islam is perceived as difficult.

Islam that has become impure

Islam is naturally simple. But when the teachings or practices of Islam are polluted by things that do not come from Islam, the simplicity of Islam is lost, and the religion is seen as difficult.

When a person embraces Islam, he only needs to change his beliefs (akidah) and only has to perform a few particular practices. He can still practice his culture, as long as it does not conflict with the Qur’an and As-Sunnah. He does not need to become an Arab or a Malay, or change his racial identity in any way. But when Islam becomes mixed up with the traditions of a culture, or any made-up practices, it becomes difficult, especially for those who have recently embraced Islam. They are not only told to change their beliefs, but also to change their culture and the habits that they have followed for years.

Hai manusia, sesungguhnya Kami menciptakan kamu dari seorang laki-laki dan seorang perempuan dan menjadikan kamu berbangsa-bangsa dan bersuku-suku supaya kamu saling kenal mengenal. Sesungguhnya orang yang paling mulia di antara kamu di sisi Allah ialah orang yang paling bertakwa di antara kamu. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui lagi Maha Mengenal. (49:13)

Islam that is practiced without knowledge

Many Muslims do not practice Islam with knowledge based on Qur’an and as-Sunnah. As a result, they do not understand the rukhsah (conveniences) that are in Islam.

In addition, they cannot differentiate between cultural traditions and the teachings of Islam.

There are also those who instruct muallaf to do things that do not actually come from the teachings of Islam, such as forbidding them from going back to their families, telling them to break off their relationships with their non-Muslim friends, and so on. In truth, when embracing Islam, a person should become a better son or daughter, a better family member and a better friend.

“Dan Kami perintahkan kepada manusia (berbuat baik) kepada dua orang ibu-bapaknya; ibunya telah mengandungnya dalam keadaan lemah yang bertambah-tambah, dan menyapihnya dalam dua tahun. Bersyukurlah kepada-Ku dan kepada dua orang ibu bapakmu, hanya kepada-Kulah kembalimu. Dan jika keduanya memaksamu untuk mempersekutukan dengan Aku sesuatu yang tidak ada pengetahuanmu tentang itu, maka janganlah kamu mengikuti keduanya, dan pergaulilah keduanya di dunia dengan baik, dan ikutilah jalan orang yang kembali kepada-Ku, kemudian hanya kepada-Kulah kembalimu, maka Ku-beritakan kepadamu apa yang telah kamu kerjakan.” (31:14-15)

Other than that, in many places, people who embrace Islam are told to change their names. This is a very sensitive issue in many cultures. A lot of non-Muslims delay embracing Islam because they are reluctant to change their names. While in truth, Islam does not force a person who has embraced Islam to change their name, as long their name does not have a bad meaning. Good names are Islamic names, regardless of what language they are in. In fact, many of the companions had non-Arabic names such as Salman and Bilal. They were never instructed by the Prophet (PBUH) to change their names to Arabic.

Islam that does not follow priority

Islam is a religion that emphasizes priority. The companions often asked Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), “What (deed) comes first?” or “What (deed in) Islam comes first?” Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gave different answers to different people based on their different levels and situations.

A person must practice Islam based on priority. That person must not be burdened with drastically practicing all the teachings of Islam. But he or she must first learn the basic knowledge of Islam, including recognizing God and the core issues of Islam, before other matters. If this is not followed, Islam becomes difficult to practice because the foundation for building one’s faith is too weak.

This happens in society when they emphasize matters of fiqh (aspects of law) compared to akidah (belief), emphasize matters of furu’ (branches, i.e. finer points) compared to core issues, emphasize tilawah (recitation of) al-Quran compared to understanding the tafsir (interpretation) or contents of the Qur’an and so on.

Islam is Simple: Islam is Easy in Practise

God is Most Merciful, Most Gracious and Most Just. He does not burden a person with something that he or she cannot bear.
“Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope."
(Al-Baqarah 2:286)

God judges us based on the best that we can do. God does not compare us to other people. The best that we can do is not the same as the best that another person can do.

When someone embraces Islam, he does not have to drastically carry out all the teachings of Islam. He only needs to do what he can, gradually introducing Islam into his life, step-by-step and at his own pace, according to priority.

The Qur’an came down in stages
In the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Qur’an was not sent down in one go, but was sent down in stages, over a period of 23 years. Therefore, the companions*

learned Islam from the Prophet and then practiced it gradually, step-by-step.

The Prohibition of Alcohol

Many of the companions were alcoholics and drunkards. They drank alcohol in great quantities. With the coming of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), alcohol was forbidden. But this prohibition did not happen drastically. It occurred gradually.

Beginning with explaining the hazards of alcohol:
“They ask you (O Muhammad) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: “In them is a great sin, and (some) benefits for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit.” And they ask you what they ought to spend. Say: “That which is (spare) beyond your needs.” Thus Allah makes clear to you His Laws in order that you may give thought." (al-Baqarah 2:219)

This was followed by the reduction of the intake of alcohol by forbidding the companions* from performing solat (prayer) while drunk. With this, they had fewer opportunities to drink alcohol.
“O you who believe! Approach not shalat (the prayer) when you are in a drunken state until you know (the meaning) of what you utter…” (4:43)

After that, only then was alcohol forbidden entirely.
“O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,- of Satan's handwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper” (5:90)

A lot of rukhsah (convenience)
In Islam, there are a lot of rukhsah (conveniences)that are given to us by God. For example, when we are travelling or sick, we are allowed to not fast in the month of Ramadan and replace our fast on other days.

"Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful" (2:185)

God has given us many more conveniences. For example:
- People who are travelling are allowed to combine and shorten two solats (prayers) in one time.
- People who are sick can combine their solats (prayers) in one time.
- People who are sick can perform solat (prayer)sitting or lying down.
- Food that is forbidden becomes permissible in times of crisis.

“Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah; that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly) eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it (in due form); that which is sacrificed on stone (altars); (forbidden) also is the division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety. This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful” (5:3)

* The companions are those who believe, have met Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and have passed away as Muslims.

Islam is Simple: Life is easier with Manual

People always say, “Islam is a difficult religion. So many do’s and don’ts (commands and prohibitions/laws). This is haram, that is haram! What is halal??! It’s so difficult!”
In truth, the commands and prohibitions in Islam are only a few.

For example, Islam prohibits its followers from eating pork. But at the same time, there are hundreds, even thousands of kinds of food that are considered halal.

Islam makes it compulsory for its followers to perform solat (prayer) five times a day. Each solat only takes about 5 minutes. This means, 23 hours and 35 minutes of the day of a Muslim is outside of solat.

Other than that, as has been explained before this, do’s and don’ts in Islam are for the good of mankind himself.

Muslims do not live in trial and error. The entire life of a Muslim is based on a practical manual that was given by the Manufacturer of humanity and the entire universe. The Most Gracious and Most Merciful God sent the Prophet as a technician to explain the manual that was given to humanity so that they may live in the best way.

“…This day, I (God) have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But as for him who is forced by severe hunger, with no inclination to sin, then surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” 5:3

The teachings of Islam embrace all aspects of life, including personal issues, family, society, law, nationhood, entertainment, economy, military, politics, civilization and so on and so forth. It encompasses the relationship between a human and his God, the relationships between humans and the relationship between humanity and the universe.

Islam does not just revolve around faith, it also revolves around deeds. It does not only give guidance on spiritual issues, it also gives guidance on material, physical, mental and emotional issues.

With this manual, we are not left floundering looking for a path that has been theorized by humans for our lives. God has made our lives more convenient by giving us this all-encompassing manual. What we need to do is only refer to this manual and be obedient to the commands of God.

Islam makes life easier

Islam is a unique religion. As explained before this, belief in Islam is not given blindly. It is based on reason and clear evidence. Faith is not blind.

However, when it comes to obedience, we blindly follow God’s commandments without question. Obedience is blind.

Is this logical?

Say we take a small child as an example. The parents of that child forbid him from playing in the middle of the road, or forbid him from playing with fire. But from the child’s perspective, those things are cool and fun. He cries when his parents do not permit him from doing those things.

This is because the child does not know those things are dangerous and harmful to him. His parents know what is best for him, and so they forbid him from things that are harmful.When the child is old enough, his parents send him to school. But from the child’s point of view, playing is more fun than studying in school. Learning in school is boring.

He does not know the importance of getting education at school. And yet, his parents still send him to school because they want a better future for their child.
God is All-Caring and All-Loving. He Knows all that is good and all that is bad for us. Because of His Love for us, He tells us to do the things that are important to us and to stay away from things that are bad for us.

“Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (Muhammad) whom they find written about in the Taurat and the Injil with them – he commands them to do good and forbids them from evil, he allows them as lawful all that is good and prohibits them as unlawful all that is bad, he releases them from their heavy burdens and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So those who believe in him (Muhammad), honour him, help him, and follow the light (the Qur’an) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful.” (7:157)

Often, the wisdom behind a certain commandment is obvious and easily understood. But sometimes the human mind cannot grasp the reason behind a commandment. Even so, because of our faith in Allah that is not blind, we blindly obey the command of Allah.

"And they ask you (O Muhammad) concerning the Ruh (the spirit). Say: “The Ruh (the spirit) is one of the things, the knowledge of which only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little.” " (17:85)

This is why, the loyalty of a Muslim to the instructions of Allah is blind and without question. Our obedience is blind.
“The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allah and His Messenger, to judge between them, is to say: “We hear and we obey”. And such are the successful.” (24:51)

Islam is easy to understand

The teachings of Islam are very simple and satisfying to the mind. The concepts behind its teachings are logical, scientific and based on clear evidence.
Allah says:
Say (O Muhammad): "This is my way (religion); I invite unto Allah on clear signs…". 12:108
We are not asked to believe in things that do not make sense. In Islam, there are no mysteries, no room for doubt.
Allah says:
“This is the Book (the Qur'an) whereof there is no doubt; a guidance to those who believe.”
(Al-Baqarah 2:2)
This is the uniqueness of Islam. Faith in Islam is not blind.

Faith and our belief in Allah, the truth of Islam, Prophet Muhammad, the al-Quran and the like is not given blindly. All of this can be proven with evidence that is clear, convincing and easy to understand. This is explained more thoroughly in the coming discussion.

ISLAM IS SIMPLE: Introduction

Islam is a simple religion. Allah says in the al-Quran:
“…(Allah) has not laid upon you in religion any hardship..”
(Al-Hajj 22:78)

“Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you."
(Al-Baqarah 2:185)

The same thing is said by Prophet Muhammad S.A.W:

“Permudahkan, jangan kamu susahkan.”
(Bukhari, Muslim)

“Sesungguhnya kamu semua diutuskan untuk memudahkan, dan kamu semua tidak diutuskan untuk menyusahkan.” (Bukhari)

The changes that need to be done after embracing Islam are only a few:

1. Belief. Nobody knows our faith other than Allah and ourselves.
2. A few physical activities such as solat, fasting, improving way of life, etc.

Muslim women CAN do sports!

When Ruqaya Al Ghasara won the women’s 200m final at the recent Asian Games in Doha, she became the first Bahraini born athlete to win a major international athletics gold medal.

2004 - She became the first Muslim woman from an Arabian country to compete at the Olympic Games.

2005 - She was the first woman to ever win a race at the West Asian Games, when the Doha-hosted competition allowed female competitors for the first time ever.

But her most treasured first of all came in December last year, when she returned to the Qatari capital for the Asian Games and won the women’s 200m final, with the best time of 23.02 (-0.8m/s), placing her in the world’s top 60 and nicely poised to make a serious assault on the world scene in this coming year.

The 24-year-old, who also won bronze in the 100m, became one of the icons of the four-yearly multi-sport spectacular, both for her achievements on the track but also for her choice of clothing.

She was asked
‘What is it?’,
‘Why are you wearing it?’

She answered,

“It’s not just a matter of wearing a piece of cloth. There is something very special about wearing the hijab. It gives me strength. I feel lots of support from society because I am wearing the Islamic hijab. There is a relationship between the hijab and the heart.”

“I have a great desire to show that there are no problems with wearing these clothes. Wearing a veil proves that Muslim women face no obstacle and encourage them to compete in sports”

The 1,400 Year Old Challenge.

The Quran was revealed 1400 years ago during the height of Arabic poetry.
During this time, there lived many Arabic poets who competed among themselves to produce the most eloquent and the most popular poetry.

And then the Quran came with a challenge:

“And if you are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (Quran) to our slave (Muhammad), then bring a surah (chapter) equal to it (in eloquency), and call your witnesses (and helpers) besides God if you are truthful. But if you can’t do it, and you will never be a able to do it, then fear the fire (hell) whose fuel is men and stones which is prepared for those who reject faith.” (Quran 2:23-24)

4. The strict terms and condition in war

Abu Bakr had advised Yazid: "I advise you ten things: Do not kill women or children or an aged, infirm person. Do not cut down fruit-bearing trees. Do not destroy an inhabited place. Do not slaughter sheep or camel except for food. Do not burn bees and do not scatter them. Do not steal from the booty, and do not be cowardly." (Mutta Malik, Book 21, Section 3, Number 10)

Safi-ur-Rahman Al-Mabarakfuri sums it up in "Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtoum",
The Messenger of Allâh [pbuh] had issued honourable strict rules about war and instructed his soldiers and leaders to comply with them. They were forbidden to break those rules under any circumstances.

In Sulaiman bin Buraidah’s version, he said that his father had told him that whenever the Messenger of Allâh [pbuh] appointed a leader on an army or on a battalion, he used to command him to fear Allâh, the Great and All-Mighty, when dealing with those who were closest to him and to be good with all Muslims. Then the Prophet [pbuh] would say to him:
"Let your invasion be in the Name of Allâh and for His sake. Fight those who disbelieve in Allâh. Invade but do not exaggerate nor commit treachery. Never deform the corpse of a dead person or kill an infant child."

The Messenger of Allâh [pbuh] asked people to facilitate but he forbade them to bear down hard on others or constrain. "Pacify", he said, "and do not disincline".

[Sahih Muslim 2/82,83]

When it happened that he arrived at the battlefield by night, he would never invade the enemy till it was morning. He utterly forbade burning (i.e. torturing people) in fire, killing children and women or even beating them. He also forbade theft and robbery and proceeded so far as to say gains acquired through plundering are not less forbidden than the flesh of a corpse. Corruption of tillage and race and cutting down of trees were all forbidden unless they were badly needed and there was no other substitute:
"Do not kill a wounded person nor run after a fleeing one or kill a captive."

He decreed that envoys cannot be killed. He also stressed on to not killing those who made covenants. He even said:
"He whoever kills one who is under pledge to a covenant shall not smell Paradise, though its smell could be experienced at a forty-year distance from it."

There were some other noble rules which purified wars from their Al-Jahiliyah (pre-Islamic) filthiness and turned them into sacred wars. [Za'd Al-Ma'ad 2/64-68; and for details Jihad in Islam p.216-262]

5. Some issues

a) Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace.
Each and every human being in this world is not in favour of maintaining peace and harmony. There are many, who would disrupt it for their own vested interests. Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace. It is precisely for this reason that we have the police who use force against criminals and anti-social elements to maintain peace in the country. Islam promotes peace. At the same time, Islam exhorts it followers to fight where there is oppression. The fight against oppression may, at times, require the use of force. In Islam force can only be used to promote peace and justice.

b) Implementation of law is not a criminal
We never call police as assassin. Even the executer, we don’t call them assassin. They merely perform their job, as to maintain peace and harmony, and in fact, they only kill those who are permissible (by the law) to be killed. Is it this simple?

No. In law, it is not easy to accuse and execute people. They must be supported by clear evidence and witnesses to proof that they are guilty. They must be supported by strong reasons.
If we can accept the rules of law, why couldn’t we accept that Muhammad was merely executed as what accordance with the law at that time, as to maintain peace and harmony?

c) During the opening of Makkah (the conquest of Makkah)
During the conquest of Makkah, Prophet Muhammad had instructed his Commanders to not cause any harm when they entered Makkah, except to fight those who resisted them. Well, it supposed to be a good opportunity to kill majority of the non-believers in Makkah!

d) Some argument about the law and the leader?
Muhammad was the leader of the Muslims at that time. He had power over Medina and few other places under his authority. In Medina itself, there were non-muslims and non-believers. However, Prophet Muhammad wasn’t kill each all of them until there were non-muslims and non-believers left. Instead, he gave sanctuary to the non-muslims under the Islamic laws.

Muhammad: A prophet or an Assassin? (I)

Definition of assassin; Assassin can be translated as a murderer who is contracted or politically motivated (could also be for money, revenge, etc).

Accusing someone an assassin is a serious charge. In order to proof that, we need to have the correct information, supported by genuine evidence. Here, I present some information gained from the authentic sources in order to proof this accusation

1. The attitude of Prophet Muhammad

a) His attitude towards his enemy
Narrated 'Abdullah: As if I am looking at the Prophet while he was speaking about one of the prophets whose people have beaten and wounded him, and he was wiping the blood off his face and saying, "O Lord! Forgive my people as they do not know." BUkhari Volume 9, Book 84, Number 63

b) His attitude in general & his lesson on morality
Masruq reported: We went to Abdullah b. 'Amr when Mu'dwiya came to Kufa, and he made a mention of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: He was never immoderate in his talk and he never reviled others. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) also said: The best amongst you are those who are best in morals. (Muslim;Book 030, Number 5740)

2. Prophetic attitude towards women

Narrated Anas bin Malik: A Jewish woman brought a poisoned (cooked) sheep for the Prophet who ate from it. She was brought to the Prophet and he was asked, "Shall we kill her?" He said, "No." I continued to see the effect of the poison on the palate of the mouth of God’s Apostle. (Sahih al-Bukhârî, Volume 3, Book 47, Number 786)

The Prophet (peace be upon him) refused to kill a woman who did intentionally try to poison him, but some people, using a fabricated story, wants us to believe that he ordered the killing of a woman who only abused him verbally.

Allah 's Apostle said, "Treat women nicely, for a women is created from a rib, and the most curved portion of the rib is its upper portion, so, if you should try to straighten it, it will break, but if you leave it as it is, it will remain crooked. So treat women nicely."(Bukhari; Volume 4, Book 55, Number 548)

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Messenger of God (peace be upon him) saw the corpse of a woman who had been slain in one of the raids, and he disapproved of it and forbade the killing of women and children. (Sahih-ul-Bukhârî, Volume 4, Book 52, Numbers 257 & 258. Also see Mutta Malik, Book 21, Section 3, Number 9)

Even after the Prophet's demise, his Sunnah was preserved by the Muslims ...

3. The teaching of Muhammad

From History (adopted from the authentic sources), Muhammad has taught all mankind to have total submission to Allah, respect the elders and love the younger’s. He taught about equal rights and respect for women, and to treat women nicely.

He taught that the rich and poor are alike in the sight of God and that their good deeds will help them meet God in heaven.
Sûrah al Hujurât 49. 13"O Mankind, We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other. Verily the most honored of you in the sight of God is he who is the most righteous of you"

He taught people to live honestly and that working hard to earn a living is also considered worship of God.

Weren't those teaching of Muhammad indicating violence?....

WHO IS GOD?

How you define GOD? And how you classify who is your GOD?

The most concise definition of GOD in Islam is specified in the four verses of Surah Ikhlas, Chapter 112 in the Qur’an;
"Say: He is Allah, The One and Only."

Allah, the Eternal, Absolute

"He begets not, nor is He begotten.

And there is none like unto Him."

[Al-Qur’an 112:1-4]

These four verses are the touchstone of theology (the Study of God). Any candidate to divinity must be subjected to this ‘acid test’. Since the attributes of GOD given in this chapter is unique, false gods and pretenders to divinity can be easily dismissed using these verses.
For instance, let’s do this acid test to Prophet Muhammad;

i) The first criterion is “Say, He is Allah, the One and Only” _ is Prophet Muhammad one and
only? No!
- Muhammad was one of the prophets that has been sent to the mankind
- Muhammad was a man; he was among the billions of human beings in this universe!
He has failed the first criterion.

ii) The second criterion is, ‘Allah is absolute and eternal’
- Muhammad was miserably sad during the dead of his wife, khadeeja, and later followed by his uncle, Abu Thaleb. The year was known as a ‘miserable year’.
- Muhammad never stop prayed for his ummah (fellow muslims). If Muhammad was God, why would He pray for His ummah? To whom could He convey his prayers? And why couldn’t He, as a God, do something for his ummah rather than pray for them?
- Muhammad died! Imagine if god passes away. Who would administer the universe after he dies?
So many questions arise and thus, it is explained that Muhammad is neither absolute, nor eternal.
He has failed the second criterion.

iii) The third criterion is ‘He begets not, nor is He begotten’_ from history, we know that Muhammad was born and he possesses parents. He also got married and had children. Is it reasonable that Almighty God has a mother or a father? NO, IT IS NOT! Almighty God should not have to be born or have kids. Why? Very simple. If Almighty God possesses a family, aren’t the other family members also gods? So how many gods we would have then? Furthermore, it goes against the first criterion of this acid test; ‘the One and Only’, as well as this third criterion!
He has failed the third criterion.

iv) The fourth test, which is the most stringent is, "There is none like unto Him". The moment you can imagine or compare ‘God’ to anything, then he (the candidate to divinity) is not God.It is impossible to conjure up a mental picture of the One True God. We know that Muhammad was a human being, having two eyes, two ears, a nose, a mouth and was a man! The moment you can imagine or draw a mental picture of an entity, then that entity is not God.
He has failed the fourth criterion.

Therefore, in Islam, we call Muhammad a prophet, not god. This acid test/touchstone of theology has proven that Muhammad is not a god. In Islam, we undoubtedly believe that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.

What is so important about the touchstone of theology?

From our observation of our surroundings, we know that this universe is perfectly made, and everything perfectly matches together. All of the evidence that we have acknowledged, brings us to the certainty that there must be god and only One God.

This One God is the Creator, the Guardian, the All-knowing and Most Powerful. Logically, God can’t be anybody from anywhere. God must be very unique and explicit!

Therefore, it is very essential to identify the One True God that we would choose to obey and surrender for our entire life…..
